Happy New Roots Thursday!?!
Og feels a little silly. He just woke up from a summer siesta after outdoing himself at this year's Southern California Genealogical Society Jamboree. He is still recovering from a really exciting and interesting event but can't wait to share all the great videos in the coming weeks!!
First up this week from Jamboree 2009, Dick Eastman talks with sociologist Dr. Tukufu Zuberi, of "History Detectives," about the show and its objective. Dr. Zuberi, one of program's four "detectives," explains how the show helps relate an individual's place in history to a larger historical context.
Also new this week is an excellent conceptual overview of Genealogical Research. Watch as eatslikeahuman gives a step-by-step outline of the genealogical research process.
Finally, have you ever wanted a piece of art that was uniquely yours? DNA 11 has come up with a stunning testament to your individuality - Fingerprint Portraits. Follow along as they explain how they create this amazing art.
And in case you missed it last week, take a peek at Have a Cemetery Adventure. Explore dozens of gravestones with Therese, as she points out some of the things you can learn about, like family information, inspiring artwork and tools like "Find-a-Grave".
Thanks for watching!
