It's always so strange finding someone in the SSDI for the first time. Unsettling, isn't it? Tends to make it more real and more final. This is an entry I didn't anticipate viewing for many years to come.

Ms. Smolenyak can you help me? I have been trying to find my ancestorys i found my gggg grandfather his name was Robert Eaton. I found him the 1900 on census in Henderson California Vance County the census says he was a farmer. Problem is cant find him before this time. I speculated that he was a slave on the Eaton Plantation. I stumbled on an article where archeologist found the remains of the Eaton Ferry Cememtary but the article didnt lead me to my gggg grandfather. Ive looked everywhere and cant find any other information. Can you help me with any of the resources that you have.
